Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water About 110°F or 43°C
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk until thoroughly blended.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix with a spoon until a dough forms. It should be slightly sticky but manageable.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Shape the dough into a loaf. If using a bread pan, place it inside. If not, shape it and place it directly in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Place the loaf in the air fryer and cook at 320°F (160°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the bread from the air fryer and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
  8. For a richer flavor, consider adding herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough. Store any leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. This bread can also be toasted for an additional crunch when serving.
