Ingredients

  • 1 pound yellow potatoes or Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • fresh parsley for garnish optional

Method

  1. Set your air fryer to preheat at 380 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Carefully peel the potatoes and cut them into slices about one-quarter inch thick, trying to keep them uniform.
  3. Combine the sliced potatoes in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper, tossing until each slice is coated.
  4. Arrange the potato slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer as much as possible.
  5. Cook the potatoes for 15 minutes, turning them over once halfway through, until the outside is golden and crisp while the inside stays tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use yellow potatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, or russet potatoes. Slice potatoes evenly about ¼ inch thick to achieve an optimal crisp outside and fluffy inside. Arrange slices in a near single layer to allow hot air circulation, enhancing crispiness. Flip the slices midway through cooking to promote even browning. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat leftovers in a preheated air fryer at 380°F for 2 to 3 minutes to regain crispiness.
