Ingredients
  

  • 8-10 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted (113g)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk (60g)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 12 King's Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sheet Rolls (or French baguette)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped parsley and chili flakes for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. Mix peeled garlic cloves with olive oil and salt; place in a small oven-safe pot with lid or cover with foil. Roast for about 20 minutes until soft and golden.
  3. Mash roasted garlic with a fork and set aside.
  4. Reduce oven temperature to 350F.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together mashed roasted garlic, melted butter, egg, milk, salt, paprika, and chopped parsley until combined.
  6. Cut sheet of bread rolls horizontally into two halves and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden and crispy.
  7. Pour garlic butter custard into a larger pan. Carefully dip both bread halves into the custard, coating all sides well.
  8. Return bread to baking sheet and bake at 350F for 15-18 minutes until golden.
  9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the bread.
  10. Switch oven to broil and broil for about 5 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley and chili flakes.
  12. Slice and serve warm for a delicious cheesy garlic bread experience.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh garlic and serve immediately while warm and cheesy. You can substitute mozzarella with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar for extra flavor. Store any leftovers wrapped tightly in foil and reheat in the oven.
