Creamy Garlic Chicken Gnocchi Skillet Recipe Must-Try

This creamy garlic chicken gnocchi skillet is a delightful one pan chicken gnocchi meal that combines tender chicken, pillowy gnocchi, and a rich garlic cream sauce. Perfect as comfort food gnocchi for a quick yet indulgent dinner everyone will love.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb potato gnocchi (fresh or store-bought)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or dairy-free alternative)
  • ½ cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth for a vegetarian option)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup spinach or kale (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Method
 

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Add chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  4. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  5. Add remaining olive oil to the skillet and cook gnocchi for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden.
  6. Remove gnocchi and set aside.
  7. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  8. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits.
  9. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  10. Return chicken and gnocchi to the skillet and toss to coat in sauce.
  11. Stir in spinach or kale if using and cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted.
  12. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  13. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan and herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Customize with roasted mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor. Use coconut or almond cream and dairy-free Parmesan for a dairy-free version. Add red pepper flakes or cayenne to make it spicy.
