Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅔ cup honey (clear and not creamed)
  • ¼ cup low sodium chicken broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛-¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Method
 

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk together honey, chicken broth, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, until chicken reaches 165°F.
  5. Once cooked, slice or shred the chicken and serve with the sauce.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days after cooling to room temperature. Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in fridge before reheating.
