Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or beef strips
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 6 soft taco tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

Method

  1. Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted, then add minced garlic and cook until you can smell its aroma.
  2. Add the beef to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until it’s fully browned. Pour off any extra fat.
  3. Mix in the honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper; let everything cook together gently for 2 to 3 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Combine mayonnaise, honey, BBQ sauce, and smoked paprika in a bowl to make the taco sauce.
  5. Warm your tortillas, then pile on the beef mixture, drizzle with the homemade sauce, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, and add cilantro if you like.
  6. Serve right away and enjoy this delicious taco fusion!

Notes

  • You can swap the ground beef for chicken or tofu according to your preference. For an extra kick, sprinkle in some cayenne or red pepper flakes. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to three days.
