Set your air fryer to 390°F (198°C) and allow it to preheat.
Trim about a quarter inch off the base of each garlic bulb to reveal the cloves while keeping the bulbs intact.
Place each garlic bulb on a square piece of aluminum foil, pour a tablespoon of olive oil over it, then fold the foil tightly around the bulb and seal the top.
Put the wrapped garlic heads into the air fryer basket and cook for 20 to 25 minutes until the cloves turn golden and soft.
Carefully remove the foil bundles using tongs and let them cool slightly.
Keep any leftovers refrigerated for up to a week or freeze them for as long as three months.
To use, gently squeeze the base of each bulb to pop the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins.
Enjoy your roasted garlic spread on bread, stirred into pasta, or layered in sandwiches.
