Ingredients

  • For the Pumpkin Spice Syrup:
  • ½ cup pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • ½ cup sugar (brown sugar for deeper flavor or white sugar for classic sweetness)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Latte:
  • 1 cup milk (whole, skim, or non-dairy alternatives like oat or almond milk)
  • 2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 2–3 tablespoons pumpkin spice syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice for garnish

Method

  1. Make the pumpkin spice syrup by combining pumpkin purée, sugar, water, and pumpkin pie spice in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes until the syrup thickens slightly, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Let the syrup cool completely before use.
  5. Fill a glass with ice cubes and add 2–3 tablespoons of the pumpkin spice syrup.
  6. Pour in the milk and espresso or strong brewed coffee.
  7. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  8. Top with whipped cream if desired and sprinkle with a little cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice for garnish.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade fall latte!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of pumpkin spice syrup to your taste preference. Store leftover syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For a festive touch, add a caramel drizzle or cinnamon sticks on top.
